BeClan just announced at their site that, following last week's appeal, they now have a copy of the BeBook available and are launching the BeClan BeBook project.

Click below to read more of their plans. BeClan plans to keep improving the BeBook, to keep it up to date with the latest fixes and additions, and for that, they'd like everyone's contribution.
BeClan invite anyone who thinks they can emulate this achievement to join us! We have a copy of the BeBook available in source control and so as a starting point we invite anyone with an interest to get a copy and submit corrections, additions and translations!

Simply making the BeBook available and allowing people to ensure that it is up to date and contains as much information as possible isn't really enough though!

The BeBook should be an innovative, forward looking "living" product. To try and bring this vision to reality BeClan are looking for people:

- interested in helping move the BeBook into the DocBook XML format
- developing an application for BeOS allowing rapid searching of the BeBook (a la BeHappy)
- working with BeClan to develop the tools for BeOS needed to transform the XML
Also, I just got word of this a few minutes ago, BeClan received a copy of the "Annotated BeBook" from its creator Stephen van Egmond (who also sent a copy to BeUnited who just announced it). This will be a good starting point for BeClan, as they said themselves "BeClan's plans remain the same though, but we'll try to incorporate as many of the comments from the Annotated BeBook into our version. We feel that making the source available for people to checkout and update themselves is a good starting point!"
