Philipe from the Masquerade IDE project shot me an e-mail letting me know of a news update.

In this news update they finally give a release date for version 0.2, both for the BeOS and for the Syllable port. The BeOS version will come out on April 30th with the Syllable version being released a short time after.

Many of you have probably been waiting a long time for the release of Masquerade, and i can tell you now that your waiting is soon going to end. The BeOS version will be released on the 30. of April. and the Syllable version a short time after due to the porting.

Masquerade version 0.2 is just what the version number indicates, it's not a full featured product. During the last few months we have developed a lot of concept code that not yet have found it's way into the Masquerade build, but after the release of version 0.2 we will for some period come with frequent updates to Masquerade, released to the public.

A lot of the concepts deal with team development, and i don't talk about those trips to the pub with your colleges, but a way to be a big team sitting at different locations working on the same project at the same time without overwriting each others code. I'll cover this more in detail a bit later. Another thing happening after the release of 0.2 is that i will come with a monthly news letter with articles and tutorials on how to use Masquerade the best way possible and also telling about what will happen.

This news section will still be active, but some of the big news will be covered in more detail in the news letters. I also want to thank the community, not only the BeOS community but also the Syllable Community...
