Over at the HaikuOS site, Philippe Houdoin announced that there's a new Kit coming for Haiku, the OpenGL kit. It was brought to life this Sunday when he imported part of the MESA BeOS port into Haiku's tree. He lists the roadmap has featuring:
  • GL API updated to 1.5
  • builtin SGI's GLU API
  • builtin GLUT API, updated to 3.7
  • addons-based renderers
  • a software-only default renderer addon, powered by Mesa3D
  • and (soon, according to usual Rudolf developing/crusing speed!) a first hardware-accelerated renderer addon for nVidia gfx cards :-) [Ed. note: who's progress you can follow here at ICO as always]
We remind you that BeOS' OpenGL implementation was up to version 1.1, so while not still 2.0, it's a big progress, but of course, long way to go. To get the MESA BeOS port, check this page.
